My Favorite Reads Each week I am featuring one of my favorite reads from the past. Those of you with a disgustingly good memory may recall that I wanted to read 12 books this year that I already own but have never read. Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seems to go right? His latest, When You Are Engulfed in Flames also hits the funny nerve. Book 4 of 12: When You Are Engulfed in Flames. His writing feels like stream of consciousness at times, and at others I'd swear I'm peeking into his diary. Case in point: When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris. The “war” is the joint view — extremely common in America — that a) tax revenues are on an acceptable track, and b) we should spend more and more on health care each year at high rates, including in per capita terms. My friend S came over last weekend and handed me this book, and while she placed it on my hands she said “Now you're a fan” It was all in humor until I started reading the damn thing and boy was she right! Krista, I'm so pleased it's you, because I think you're incredibly cute, and you're a very, very smart 16 year old! Like his previous books "When You Are Engulfed In Flames" and "Dress Your Family In Corduroy And Denim", the title bears only a passing relevance to its contents. The sweetest thing my mom has ever done for me was stand in line all day at Joseph-Beth for a signed copy of When You Are Engulfed in Flames.
